Our client is an exciting and fast-growing technology organisation working at the forefront of the Mobile Application space. This self-funding company leverages cutting-edge technology to build disruptive products and solutions for various industries. Due to growth, they now have an immediate opening for a Database Administrator to join their Melbourne based team.

As a Database Administrator, you will:

Effect successful implementation & expected behaviours from Database management systems
Install, configure and monitor Azure SQL Server environments with high availability and disaster recovery
Collaborate with peers & IT Partners in the execution of assigned duties
Communicate with technical, applications and operational team to ensure database integrity and security
Support on-call activities as needed
Perform assigned tasks using established procedures, policies and process
Perform & maintain all documentation supporting effective change control, business continuity & sustainment of Database systems
Provide solutions to Database Management problems of moderate scope and complexity

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following skills and traits:

3+ years of experience as a DBA
Strong knowledge of automation: Infrastructure as code using PowerShell is preferred
2+ years of experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server or CosmosDB or similar
SOA / event-driven microservices architecture experience
Demonstrable knowledge of Database Standards, Practices & Policies
Azure MS certifications a plus
Experience with any MS Azure products highly regarded (Service Bus, Functions, Container Registry, K8s, Storage...)
Understanding of Git flow, Azure DevOps, CI/CD principles
Experience working in a start-up, wagering industry, or heavily regulated environments
